This is Monique. She is 9 years old and lives in Cameroon. When she began struggling in school, her family didn’t know that Monique had a secret: She was losing her eyesight.
Cataract surgery is a relatively simple procedure, but in places like Cameroon such an operation is hard to come by. Monique is one of 1,500 patients who had cataracts corrected during our field service in Cameroon. Thanks to the support of our generous Mercy Ships donors, she finally returned to school to join her classmates.
This work is only possible because of the generosity of the Mercy Ships community; and we are so grateful for your support.
