“Gathering the dust of the Rabbi”

Discipleship In Newtownards.

The Newtownards churches are coming together in our Scrabo Room during September and October at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings (commencing 20th September) for a series of 6 studies presented by Desi Maxwell who is a Presbyterian minister. The topic will be “Gathering the dust of the Rabbi” which will explore the relevance of 1st century discipleship for 21st century disciples.

Desi was a lecturer at Belfast Bible College for 20 years and then in 2007 he was encouraged to take his teaching to a wider audience so he and his wife, Heather, took a very courageous leap in faith and established a teaching ministry modelled on the risen Lord’s instruction of His disciples on the Emma’s Road. This has been a great success and many have benefited from Desi’s wonderful teaching – his PowerPoint© presentation is just amazing.

Each Thursday 11:15 – 12:00 from September to April Desi gives a lecture in the House of Vic-Ryn on the Moira Road, Lisburn and on Tuesdays during the same period (also 11:15 – 12:00) gives a lecture in Montgomery’s, Ballymena. Desi also runs a summer school in the House of Vic-Ryn during the last week in July – two lectures each day 10:00 – 12:30 with a tea/coffee break between the lectures.
